Teaches Children Life Skills
Most summer camps are only geared towards kids having fun. At LP SADD's summer camp children have fun while learning empowering life skills and lessons related to preventing risky and destructive behaviors.
Lessons include, but are not limited to: the importance of the human brain, growth and development, decision making skills, vehicle and bicycle safety, refusal tactics, internet safety, substance abuse prevention, and character development.
The summer program is led by trained high school students who are alcohol, tobacoo, and drug-free. Teens have received extensive tranining to deleiver the curriculum effectively. High school students plan, prepare, and deliver the lessons to a group of twenty campers each day.
